US black metal band Sarcoptes sign to Transcending Obscurity
Even though we included one of Sarcoptes‘ new songs on the previous label sampler, here’s more information on the band along with the official statement and information on the upcoming release.
Label owner Kunal Choksi states, “I’m pleased to work with a band of the calibre of Sarcoptes. It was made clear from their debut full length that the band is on to something special and I’m sure they will come up with something remarkable where their upcoming releases go. They blend black and thrash metal and spice it up with a bit of keyboards to make it epic without disrupting the overall momentum or intensity. It’s rather invigorating and exciting as few bands are able to pull this off. They’re unique in their approach and highly memorable too. Watch out for the EP which will be up for pre-order shortly which will be followed by their full length.”
The band comments, “Sarcoptes is thrilled to be working with Kunal and Transcending Obscurity Records, one of the premier extreme metal labels in the world. This is a big step up for us in terms of exposure and a huge opportunity for growth as a band. Every time we enter the studio to work on a new recording, we always do our best to improve upon what has come before and the upcoming releases we have planned for Transcending Obscurity are no exception. Working with famed engineer Zack Ohren at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA. required us to bring the very best we had to these recordings. The end results being our best efforts to date: superb production values, natural and highly acoustic performances and of course our own distinct blend of epic black metal fused with classic thrash and death metal influences. Harrowing tales of war, death, plagues and the dark side of human nature set to a soundscape of nightmarish grandeur and hellish violence”.
