The idea of Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Megascavenger, Putrevore) and Dave Ingram (Hail of Bullets, ex-Benediction, ex-Bolt Thrower) coming together to play death metal probably sounds fanciful, but they’ve made it happen and it’s going to be even more epic in the future, with the addition of the drummer in Travis Ruvo (Among the Decayed, Cropsy Maniac, ex-Blood Freak). This is a veritable international band with members from Sweden, UK and US being involved to create classic death metal that’s made pertinent due to Rogga’s vigorous activity for the genre in recent times. The new Echelon full length will be unloaded after the much-awaited new Paganizer release titled ‘On the Outskirts of Hades’ via Transcending Obscurity Records.
Transcending Obscurity Records owner Kunal Choksi states, “Having already worked with Rogga Johansson for the new Paganizer release, it’s been an absolute breeze planning out details for the upcoming Echelon release with none other than Dave Ingram of Hail of Bullets, ex-Bolt Thrower and ex-Benediction on vocals/lyrics. The new Echelon full length will be released on Transcending Obscurity Records when ready and it’ll serve as a reminder for all of what’s so great about classic death metal and it doesn’t get bigger than this. I’m absolutely chuffed.”
Rogga Johansson adds, “We, Rogga and Dave, are very excited to be contracted by Transcending Obscurity for the second Echelon album. Work has started and so far half the album is written, and arrangments of vocals and drums will take place the coming couple of months. Expect an album that continues after the debut, but with everything more worked through and made harder and more epic. The drums will also be taken care of the awesome Travis Ruvo.”
