Death metal legion Depravity join forces with Transcending Obscurity Records to propagate the infernal sounds contained on their much awaited debut full length album titled ‘Evil Upheaval’. With members of acclaimed bands such as Impiety, The Furor, Entrails Eradication and more, we’re looking at an experienced group of musicians who know how to pull things off. Their first song was unearthed via last month’s 2018 Label Sampler and it has now been made available for streaming on the label’s official channel and Bandcamp.

Transcending Obscurity Records owner states, “I had an absolute blast working with Louis Rando for The Furor release and obviously I was ecstatic to work with him again for his current band Depravity. It’s easily some of the best death metal I’ve heard of late and it has that trademark devastating effect on listeners. I couldn’t pass that up. We’ve gone overboard with the box set packaging for this one and let’s hope it’s all well received. I’m glad to be able to put it out in very quick time too from the submission of the final masters and layout, which has been a goal for me this year.”

Depravity members add, “Having Depravity signed to Transcending Obscurity Records gives us far more exposure and incentive to move forward, as Kunal from the label never seems to stop working! Having dealt with the same label for the last Furor release, I was really impressed at the work ethic and level of communication that Kunal offers. He takes great pride in his label, and it’s quite evident when you see what he’s managed to accomplish in such a short amount of time. He believes in our band, as we do, and he’s going to make Depravity available to ALL!”

Death metal was meant to be an assault on the senses but somewhere along the way bands started taking it easy, getting complacent. Enter Depravity from Australia. They show us how it’s to be done, to play devastating death metal without straying from the genre’s roots. This is what Morbid Angel should’ve sounded like today. There’s no going back or forth. This is it. This is the fiercest expression of death metal while remaining relevant. Louis Rando (ImpietyThe Furor) and his team of musicians conjure up a maelstrom of wicked death metal that lays waste to all else. Vile, twisted and deafeningly heavy, ‘Evil Upheaval’ is one of the most powerful albums you’ll bear witness to this year.
