We’ve signed a few bands keeping the label’s future in mind and Burial Hordes from Greece are one among them. Their style of dark and blackened death metal music is highly impressive and one can expect their new material to be stunning as well. They’ve got members of Dead Congregation, Necrovorous, Pile of Excrements and others, so the quality should be right there. You can preview their 2018 album below.
Label owner Kunal Choksi states, “We’re thrilled to sign yet another Greek band after Dødsferd, Cerebrum, Nigredo and that’s Burial Hordes. I’ve been a huge fan of their music and I’m sure the band will be a force to be reckoned with. Their style of music is dark death metal with black undertones and it’s a delight to work with them. Watch out for one of their songs in the upcoming label sampler. The future is dark.”
Burial Hordes add, “We are very honoured to join forces with Transcending Obscurity Records one of the most dynamic and thriving labels in extreme music and we thank Kunal for the trust that show to our horde. Burial Hordes is working upon the new album and we can promise that we will dive deeper in the frostbitten territories of human psyche, to unleash another study of cold rationalism against the comforting illusions of mankind. Burial Hordes has been destroying hope since 2001 and we will keep destroying it until our inevitable end.”
Death metal legion Depravity join forces with Transcending Obscurity Records to propagate the infernal sounds contained on their much awaited debut full length album titled ‘Evil Upheaval’. With members of acclaimed bands such as Impiety, The Furor, Entrails Eradication and more, we’re looking at an experienced group of musicians who know how to pull things off. Their first song was unearthed via last month’s 2018 Label Sampler and it has now been made available for streaming on the label’s official channel and Bandcamp.
Death metal juggernaut Down Among The Dead Men have assembled a new album that’s filthier and crustier than ever before. Sounding massive, Rogga Johansson has created his best music for the band yet, with Dave Ingram being in absolute top form throughout. Both members have put out highly successful albums in Paganizer and Ursinne respectively this year, not to mention the sensational Echelon release where they joined forces again.

Wistful and mysterious, Lurk‘s music is just as interesting and multi-faceted as their cover artwork. Blending elements of doom, black and death metal into their astounding sludge template, the Finnish band is taking the sound ahead in ways hitherto unheard. Haunting, soaring melodies juxtapose with abrasive low-end riffs without hampering the overall aesthetics. Watch the band take you into a slow, hallucinatory descent towards madness where multiple worlds coalesce and still make sense – that in a nutshell is the music of Lurk.

Arttu Pulkkinen – Guitar
Eetu Nurmi – BassGuest vocals by Aleksi Laakso on Elan
Alto saxophone by Aino Heikkonen on OstrakismosAlbum artwork by Adam Burke (Hooded Menace, Loss)

Dødsferd have to be one of the most underrated bands in the style. They’ve toiled hard for years and haven’t yet received the attention they’re due. Their music has rare poignancy of late and it’s something that is relatable too, especially in these times, more now than ever before. The way they infuse melodies against a harsh, minimalistic backdrop is stunning. It’s atmospheric black metal and DSBM going hand-in-hand, with the emotions being all too palpable and real.
Legendary doom metal band Officium Triste are gearing up to release their new full length album on the label this year. In the meantime, check out their demo version of one of their songs that was part of the 2018 label sampler here –
We’re always trying to expand our repertoire and it’s a rare thrill to come across exceptional bands that push the sound in their own twisted ways. We had a different category altogether for such bands in our 2018 label sampler where even P.H.O.B.O.S. contributed a track along with other luminaries such as Veilburner, 0N0, Project Omega, etc. It’s time to reveal the album artwork and other information pertaining to their upcoming release titled ‘Phlogiston Catharsis’.

Members of Nashgul and Bokluk unite to concoct some of the vilest, nastiest old school death metal dripping with filth. With a full length already under their belt, Come Back From The Dead release a terrific no-filler EP that will leave you begging for more. Rooted in the ancient Finnish death metal sound, they recapture the original fetid essence and throw in their Spanish darkness for good measure. ‘Caro Data Vermibus’ is a seething, squirming death metal beast with enough recall power to make you never forget this episode.
